Blimey! I’m a blogger!

Blimey! I’m a blogger!
Funny, but I don’t feel any different.
Simply going about my Father’s business.
Or as Merton said (paraphrased)
I’m desiring to do God’s will
and believing that it’s pleasing to God
even if I haven’t a clue.

What is this blog all about anyway?

A “Safe Place to be a Catholic.”
Musings.

Yes, there is Truth and Light,
but let’s share it with a bit of humility and grace
rather than superiority and condemnation.
Get the idea? Maybe not.
Life is not all feel-good-fluff, to be sure.
But life is a blessing. Every minute. Every second.
Every trial. Every exultation.

Let’s try a few things.

In the context of being a Catholic (or maybe wondering about it)
we’ll feature a daily topic:

“Thank-God-It’s-Monday Monday:” What are you thankful for? Share your personal experiences, encouraging stories and comments.

“Holy Hero Tuesday:” The Saints. From the well-known to the obscure, have they got a story to tell!

“Whatever Wednesday:” A day of guest authors (go ahead, volunteer!) and fun Catholic stuff.

“What’s Happenin’ Thursday:” What are *you* doing this week in the Catholic world? Calendar of local events; send us yours!

“Scripture Friday:” What Bible verse has inspired you? Why?

Comments invited.

I am living the Good Shephard Psalm. I am in lambing season. The Good Shephard knows His sheep and they know his voice. He leaves the many to save the lost. Watching my ewes give me that glazed eye look and grind their teeth tell me another life is on the way. I watch hopeful as new life appears and celebrate with the new mom and help her clean her babies and make sure they nurse. I sit quietly with them as they settle in and bond to each other. I think, did Jesus do this? Understand this? Relax this way? It is a miracle every time.
